What’s so special?
Lucien Piccard was founded in Switzerland in 1923 and built its early reputation on well-finished, artistic dress watches years before its Dufonte sub-line became known for simpler, everyday pieces. This example carries the Dufonte name along with a “Ra Switzerland Ra” designation on the dial. The case back and crown is signed Lucien Piccard Watch Corp, Swiss, and the movement inside is signed Dufonte Co, Seventeen 17 Jewels, Swiss, Unadjusted, a fully jeweled Swiss caliber typical of the brand’s mid-century output.
The dial is a clean, silvered sunburst design with applied Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, slim baton hour markers, dauphine hands, and a date window at 6 o’clock, a versatile layout equally suited to daily wear or dressier occasions.
About this example
This example retains its original silvered dial with warm, even patina on the lume plots and hands. The Dufonte script logo and Ra Switzerland Ra text are crisp and legible, and the date wheel advances cleanly through the day of the month. The stainless steel case shows light wear consistent with its age, with clean, unpolished lugs and no major dings. It is fitted with a modern blue leather strap for a fresh look on the wrist. The watch is freshly serviced by us, running great, and keeping good time.
