What’s so special

Headquartered in Pittsburgh Pensilvania, Kobold sought to reinvent American watchmaking by bringing to market high quality tool watches like this Soarway titanium diver. Kobold delivered high quality materials, bold case designs, and rock solid ETA movements in a relatively affordable package. Worn by the likes of James Gandolfini and punctuating big adventures to Everest and Napal, Kobold kicked off the trend of American watch micro brands.

Why SWC loves it

Titanium case, a sapphire sandwich, and a gorgeous custom signed rotor highlight the finishings on this unique diver. We’re particularly fond of the blued screws that decorate the movement and the watch’s overall slimness. At 12mm tall, the imposing 41mm case is remarkably wearable; hugging the wrist even on this canvas black nato strap. Also, the action on the uni-directional rotating dive bezel is just fantastic!

About this example

This Kobold came to SWC suffering the fate of many Kobolds of the era. Poor quality control, badly aligned hands, loose casing screws, and other last-mile finishing issues. This example has been completely gone-through and given a clean bill of health. The only noticeable flaws are a couple small dings on the inside of the automatic rotor and some missing paint on the dive bezel. Excluding that character, it’s ready for many many years of adventure.
