What’s so special

In the late 50s and early 60s Swiss watch manufacturing was much less vertically integrated. There were hundreds of manufacturers that specialized in cases, movements, and dials. So you saw a variety of different brand names on the same Landeron or Valjoux based movement and case designs. This Mac’s Chronograph Suisse two register chronograph is one such example. These days, they’re getting harder and harder to find in good condition and are a great entry into affordable vintage Swiss watches.

That dial is a stunner! The copper plating is captivating and takes on many different personalities depending on the lighting it’s in. Also, we’re particularly fond of the simple, high polished steel baton style hands on this model which are in particularly good condition considering this watch is well over 60 years old . A notable bit of movement history, this Landeron 48 movement features a chronograph action that’s different than more modern examples: The top button starts, but the bottom button stops and resets.
